Hi All,

I am reading the owners manual of my wires new DN-01 and I see that it has the instructions for changing the HFT filter but does not mention replacing any oil lost when doing so.. Is the HFT oil separate from the engine oil? I thought it was as they are 2 different assemblies...

Just changed mine, the 3.5 ltrs services both the gearbox and engine. Use good quality oil, I put in Halfords oil and it sounded like a tractor.

It is the same oil for both engine and gearbox, as they both share it.
When changing the filters only, then it is worth using the dipstick to double check.
Norrie, are you sure you were on the bike and not your lawnmower?LOL:D

My understanding from reading the service manual is that the engine crankcase and the transmission share the same oil.
The levels are shared by an opening that allows the levels to be maintained.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
