4000 mile service

Got this done last week at my Honda dealer. It was a prepaid service as part of my purchase. Total was $198 and change. Took about 1.5 hours. $20 of that was the difference between regular Honda oil and the Honda synthetic blend (I ride all year round here in Colorado).

The dealership changed your oil at 4000 miles ? I thought the first oil change was at 8000 mile according to the manual .

I change the oil on my bike every 3,000 miles and the oil filters every 6,000 miles. The first service was done at 600 miles.

Zebra, I agree with Norrie. I always try to change oil & filters (if filter is applicable) on all our bikes at 3K mile intervals, never to exceed 3,500 miles. Oil is cheap when it comes to engine wear!

I didn't explain myself very clear . I also have prepaid service on my bike , but the dealership will only change the oil and filters at the intervals in the manual which I believe is 8000 miles . I changed my oil and oil filter at 4000 miles . I did not change the tranny filter .
