I can only think that there is a voltage reduction between the dip switch and the filament n the headlight bulb, but after more hours wasted, I cannot find any such thing.I have checked the bulb with a multimeter and it is ok, new battery 2 months ago, checked earths, they are ok.
This bike has a single filament bulb. I had a look at the dip switch, but it all looks new and I am still scratching my head.
Check the voltage to the bulb via the plug that connects power to the bulb. (About 12 volts DC .... voltage there, bulb is BAD!!) Bulb will be hot when voltage is applied and DO NOT TOUCH the bulb with your fingers, oil from your fingers will shorten the life of the bulb .... use a cloth to hold the bulb whenever replacing or touching!I can only think that there is a voltage reduction between the dip switch and the filament n the headlight bulb, but after more hours wasted, I cannot find any such thing.
I have checked this with the multimeter and I have voltage, therefore I got 2 dud bulbs in the pack which I bought from ebay.Check the voltage to the bulb via the plug that connects power to the bulb. True but you are right ... 2 faulty bulbs being bad! POSSIBILITY that 'something' is 'frying' the bulbs when you plug them in. Been there! Further T/S maybe necessary IF the bulbs (in the pack) were good to begin with! Keep us posted as to how it goes and IF you are able to solve your dilemma. (Make SURE that the bulbs you are using are the CORRECT bulbs to replace with!) Examine the 'new' bulbs with the 'old' bulb and make sure that they 'look' the same!I have checked this with the multimeter and I have voltage, therefore I got 2 dud bulbs in the pack which I bought from ebay.
Thank You very much for your tips, as I had plugged the faulty bulb into the connector and of course the dip wouldn't work, I am a right idiot.
It is unusual to get both bulbs faulty in the one pack though.
Thanks agan.
Thought you had fallen off the map ... hadn't heard from ya! Good to know that you can 'see again!'The problem is now fixed, dodgy bulbs were the culprit. Thank You for your help.
