Muffler Packing ring destroyed

Hi All. I am just removing my muffler to get the wheel off. The packing ring has come apart, one half is on the pipe, and the other is still inside the muffler. I suspect the previous owner/mechanic may have used reinforced tape rather than the correct part. I will try to scrape it off, but I am worried I may have to replace the whole lot. I have to buy a packing ring that is for sure.

I am interested in any ideas you may have.

Item 13 below. That's proply butchered by the last bloke. They are easy to damage if the pipe does not slip over easy - which is a must. A lota bikes use them.

Yep thanks, Freddy. I have ordered one. it seems to have bonded to the pipe a little as well, but I have it all scraped off and cleaned up now.

Ensure that muffler inlet is opened up where it been damaged. Any burrs will damage the new ring when slipping it on. Put it on the cat outlet pipe, not inside the muffler inlet when assembling.
