Can any one help me with the brakes on my HONDA dn-01 i have just carried out a full service on my bike which inc new brake pads and after bleeding the brakes only the back break works . has any one else had this problem . if so please tell me , i have been told its may be the modulator ,but they are very expensive and a big job to replace i am no amateur and have been doing disc brakes from the day they were invented.so all the well meaning riders who give suggestions like has your a b s light come on or is the brake fluid low ? i know you mean well but it is not helping me i would like to speak to a bike mechanic who has replaced a modulator . and any one who has had brake problems like me . and how you fixed it ? i love my HONDA and would like to hear from . any one who has a work shop manual they would like to sell or just print off the section that Covers abs brake system and send it to me ? i am in far north Queensland Australia . and thank you to all the dino riders around the globe

hi, something is wrong, look at the left brake cylinder on the front wheel

Hi Alan - unless you removed all the fluid before bleeding, I would expect that the modulator would probably not be an issue, unless it was faulty before you started.
Due to the linked brakes, the front left caliper also needs to be bled using the foot brake pedal. I changed the fluid on mine a couple of years back and had no issues at all - started on the front right, then front left (using front brake lever), then rear, then front left using the rear brake pedal, then repeated the procedure.

I think either there is a lot of air in the system or there is no brake fluid in the second glass

check master cylinder, possible leak

or it didn't work or you did something wrong...

I couldn't change the brake fluid alone, especially bleed the rear, my son helped me, how could you change everything alone?

Thank you bob /f in Coventry uk i have just read your reply its 900pm down under so i will try out your advice in the morning . many thanks and will tell you how it went , cheers !

HI BOB TRIED THE SURGESTIONS YOU MADE BUT UNFORTUNATELY NO LUCK YET BUT I THINK YOU HAVE POINTED ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION .IT HAS GOT TO BE A AIR BUBLE BLOCK OF SOME SORT. MY NEXT THING IS TO TRY AND DO A BLOW BACK WITH A AIR LINE ITS A BREAL PAIN I WISH I NEW HOW TO BY PASS THE ABS UNIT AND HAVE REGULAR BRAKES .
