My point....
The replacement batteries made for motorcycles are inferior to the originals. Back in 1982 my CX500 had it's original battery last 8 years... my DN-01 was only 1/2 that. WE shouldn't let them get away with the crap. Especially the replacements that last at best 2 seasons. (yes, when I had Lead Acid batteries - I maintained properly and removed them to the basement for the off season - and topped up etc etc... 'babied them!'
I don't believe anybody should have to plug in your bike in the summer time just because you didn't start it up for 2 or 3 weeks.
I am absolutely serious when I tell you I've left my Lithium Ion battery in the bike for 3 years or more (over 4 on my CX500) - even left it in the bike through last winter - never charged it and it continues to perform perfectly.
Saving money? What about the aggravation of heading out to get on the bike only to find that you didn't plug it in the last time ("only a couple weeks") Then what? Sit around for it to top up again... or get out the jumper cables - again!
I was so frustrated - and now...never again. They are worth every penny in my opinion.
