Where was your last ride?

Good Question for the group. Logging our trips might bring a little more activity to the board?

JoAnn & I rode yesterday here in the Ozarks, her on her DN-01 & me on my XR-650L. We stopped by Sunrise Honda at Searcy, where they did the service letter of the spark plug cap replacements on her DN-01. The ride was 161 miles total, in great weather, temp in the upper 60's, fall colors just wonderful, also had a great lunch at Colton's in Searcy.

Today was a little bit of a blustery day, however my nearly 15 year old grandaughter was visiting this weekend from her home about 3 hours away and we had planned a Goldwing ride during her trip. She has ridden with me for many years now, so each time we are able we try to "Make New Memories". Today was no different with the planned ride to Sunrise Honda in Searcy, AR where each and every Saturday they serve lunch to all that will show up.

Today we got a special memory! We rode in a Veterans Day Parade in Clinton, AR. with some of the Fire Departments in our county. Since, I serve as Fire Chief of our Airpark Fire Department and have to respond sometimes when I am out on my Goldwing, I have it equipped emergency equipment simular to a LEO bike but the lights are red instead of blue although with the same siren setup. So the grandaughter got the thrill of going thru the parade in the line with the Engines and Trucks while riding on the back of the Wing. She did her job good! Waving and was throwing candy out as we went thru town.

When we have memories made like that, who cares about the weather. Right?

Did about 50 miles on my Honda Reflex scooter today mostly because it needed run and because it has some wind protection .

Zebra...I guess we are the only ones that ride or at least ride and post? I guess everyone else has resigned to the winter time couch and the football games?

Well.. I am 8 weeks out of rotator cuff surgery and am not supposed to look at me bikes but my wife went to florida and her 0 mile DN-01 needed its NY state inspection. Soooo, off to my dealer I went yesterday for a quick 40 mile round trip and what a weird feeling not shifting...

It was a little cold and a little painful and I don't think I would have wanted to go any further but it is done. Now I can start tearing her down to install the alarm, headlight, tail light modulators, tail light conversions, and windshield...

I didn't know there was a riding "season". I just don't ride when its raining or icy, its going in the 20's tonight and wet. Here it Alabama you just wait a couple of days and get back on the the bike. Heated gear makes it fine.

Got up to 62 degrees today so a neighbor here on the Airpark (on his BMW1200 Adventure) and myself (on my XR-650L) made a lunch run to the Dairy Bar in Timbo Arkansas for one of those absolute wonderful hamburgers. A little windy on the mountain tops but all in all a good ride. JoAnn and the DN-01 stayed home out of the wind!

Hi folks,
Here's just a few photos from our travels this past fall up to now.

Whoops! I had posted too many photo links here to show up so here's a link to my Flickr photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/13012571@N07/sets/72157628897150345/
I'll leave the descriptions below.

Johnstown, PA about to take the bikes up the Incline Plane

Entrance to the newly opened Flight 93 memorial

Outside Falling Waters in PA (it rained most of this trip, so it was appropriate to stop at a place by this name)

Sukuta Girl's favorite motorcycle gear shop- the Iron Pony outside of Columbus, OH

Sunset outside of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Aslyum, Weston, WV

Seneca Rocks, WV

Outer Banks, NC

Sukuta Girl and I posing outside Front Royal, VA for our annual Fall Colors photo (a bit late at this elevation)

Belated Christmas Card- We hope everybody had a great holiday!

1/1/12 Polar Bear Run- 1st ride of 2012- riding onto White's Ferry to cross the Potomac from VA to MD- great weather that morning- ended the ride home in rain riding down along a gusty storm front

Here's the ferry coming to pick us up. Unfortunately carrying another load of cages to clog up the roads in Virginia :(

1/7/12 Frederick, MD Lunch Ride looping thru Blair Witch country, Antietam Battlefield, Harpers Ferry, WV

We've had a mild winter so far and we're still out riding every weekend. Of course it helps to have heated gear!
